Oliver was traveling with his daughters, Madita Klepser and Annik Klepser, ages 10 and 12, and pilot Robert Sachs, heading to the island of Saint Lucia. The ship departed at around 12:00 local time (16:00 GMT) from James Mitchell Airport in Bequia – territory of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – but minutes later it crashed specifically one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis.
A video from a citizen posted on social media shows the moment the aircraft falls into the water.” The plane has crashed! Call the Coast Guard,” exclaims the person who recorded the video. For its part, the newspaper Searchlight, in Saint Vincent, reported that Sachs alerted the control tower at the local airport that he was having problems with the plane, so he wanted to return to the runway.
