Fraser Olender was too harsh on Barbie Pascual in Below Deck Season 11 and fans thought she was being treated unfairly.
Barbara ‘Barbie’ Pascual had a difficult time making stew on Below Deck Season 11 and didn’t have the best reputation with some of the cast members.
Chief Stew Fraser Olender chides her for her attitude every time she is asked to do something, and tells her to go easy on her stew friend, Cat Baugh.
When Barbie refused to be nice just to make others happy, Fraser felt offended and wanted to kick her off the boat.
Captain Kerry Titheradge refuses Fraser’s request to let her go, and the stew eventually makes amends after Barbie admits that her behavior was wrong.

Below Deck fans think Fraser is “too harsh” on Barbie
On Reddit, Below Deck fans accused Fraser of treating Barbie unfairly and instead focused on Cat’s feelings.
“Well, I understand why I like Barbie. She reminds me of Kate Chastian. Her ITM comments were especially emotional for Kate. Also, the fact that she can see through the BS that Fraser gives her,” the original poster wrote.
This user continued: “Really, Barbie is reacting like we all would if our boss called us words like ‘darling’ and then gave special treatment to the worst worker while not saying What’s positive about people who can really do a good job! Then proactively find a way to fire Barbie.”
“Both are wrong. Fraser was a little too harsh with her, throwing criticism after criticism as if he were aiming at her. He hasn’t given her an ‘atta girl’ or anything even though she’s a hard worker,” another fan added.
“Agreed, I like Fraser but disappointed in his actions this season, emotionally investing in a girl’s trauma to see how it affects his crew! That means Barbie needs to downsize too,” chimed in a third fan.
Since Fraser has only been team leader for two seasons of Below Deck, fans feel that he still doesn’t have much experience in managing his crew.
Fraser admits he was too friendly with the crew last season, and this season he’s exercising strict discipline with Barbie, while Cat seems out of place.
Hopefully he will feel more comfortable in his position as the season continues.
